Monday Night Football: Oakland Raiders 23, Denver Broncos 20

For those of you who could not stay up to watch the second Monday Night Football game and are frustrated that the game ran past press time, I have you covered.

Perhaps a big factor that led the game to go on later than many anticipated were the amount of penalites called. The Raiders had 15 penalties called on them for 131 yards while the Broncos committed 10 penalites for 91 yards.

But despite Oakland's problems with the referees, they were able to pull out a win for a few reasons:

1. Sebastian Janikowski. He kicked three field goals, including a 63-yard one that tied Tom Dempsey and Jason Elam's record for the longest field goal in NFL history.

2. Of course, two of those field goals came via drives that started with Denver turnovers. The Broncos gave the ball away three times.

Knowshon Moreno fumbled in the second quarter, setting up Janikowski's 37-yard field goal. His 63-yard field goal came after Kyle Orton threw an interception to Matt Giordano.

Then in the third quarter, Lamarr Houston recovered an Orton fumble and Darren McFadden bursted for a 47-yard run that set the Raiders up with first-and-goal on the one-yard line.

Jason Campbell scored on a quarterback sneak.

Also in the second quarter, Oakland got a blocked punt by Darryl Blackstock. That, plus a 20-yard run by McFadden on third-and-13, set up a three-yard touchdown pass from Campbell to Marcel Reece.

3. Speaking of McFadden and the running game, they played lights out. McFadden finished with 150 yards on 22 carries.

Then, with the Raiders leading 23-20, Michael Bush went in and clinched the game with two solid runs for first downs. From there, Oakland ran out the final two minutes to seal the game.
