CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Sophomore tailback Dylan Kirkpatrick rumbled 71 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.
The long touchdown run gave Blue Ridge the early 6-0 lead. Then St. Thomas More blocked the extra-point attempt.
From there, it was all Sabers, as they sent the Knights back to Farmer City with a 55-6 loss.
With the defeat, Blue Ridge falls to 0-2 on the season. The Knights will host Ridgeview next Friday; the game, for now, is scheduled for 7 p.m.
